Micro-Grants
The original pillar of our funds is the gifting of micro-grants of up to $1,000 to artists. We recognize that it’s not a huge sum of money, but when it comes at a critical moment, it can be life-changing. Our artists have used their grants to cover rent, make videos, pay musicians, hire publicists, and more. There are no restrictions on the usage.
Support Services
Because assistance comes in many forms, we like to also support our artists by pairing them with a network of affiliated publicists, graphic designers, bio writers, and others who have volunteered to help on projects. If you are an industry professional who would like to get involved, please reach out.
Mentorship
Sometimes, what an artist needs most is a pep talk, a sounding board, or a safe space. This is especially true for marginalized identities making strides against the winds of white supremacy. To fill that need, we’ve rounded up a group of industry “elders” – artists, managers, executives, and creatives – who are willing to lend an ear and share some wisdom with the upcoming generations. If you are such an “elder” and would like to participate, please reach out.
Bootcamp
Another set of tools that artists need nowadays can’t be delivered in an email or Zoom call. So we’re developing a multi-day bootcamp program that will cover branding, collaborating, networking, business affairs, and more. Stay tuned!
